Rockclimbing-Project Climbing Centre November 26, 2019

This trip rocked! Sorry I couldn’t help myself. Students challenged themselves on various routes at Project Climbing Center, learned some basic belaying techniques, and learnt climbing techniques from certified instructors. Highlights included Nathanael Coleman showing his dexterity while nimbly flying up the wall, and grade 9 Extreme student, Ethan Black, performing a lead climb while showing that gravity doesn’t matter to him. Extreme Outdoor Education students (and anyone else who wants to) leave a 100 word response below.

Throughout The course of the there were many ways for which you could decide on making a change for yourself from who can get up wall the fastest to attempting the Challenge wall But with all of the opportunities to give yourself a change comes the decision of whether you should attempt that thing in the first place today I found that there was a Challenge that I was not quite ready to handle that challenge causes me to get hurt so it is important to know you limits which can grow but it is important to play somewhat with in those limits.

Rock climbing(quite literally) teaches you that sometimes you got to climb to make your goals. Which is true not only in the physical realm such as in this case with rock climbing but in the metaphorical realm as well. Such ass when you are trying to do well in your classes like for example me trying to get a B in English feels like I am trying to climb mount Everest. Well it is within parallel to what has been once said by David McCulloughr” climb mountains not so the world can see you but so you can see the world“.Those hurdles in rock climbing are just like the challenges you experience in life it keeps you from your end goal what ever it may be. So climb that rock and rock climbing.

I loved this trip, I got to go to the climbing gym during school. I got to lead a little bit. But I spent most of my time bouldering. I was very lucky that the setters had just set some new boulders. I had a lot of fun and would love ot do it again in the near future, great trip. I this trip was also perfect because I knew all o the staff working, they made it such a great time for everybody .

I was surprised that it was so exhausting. I didn’t expect that before. Also I had so much fun. It was a great experience and I continued going to climbing centres with my little brother. He has been doing this for the last 4 years but I’ve never joined him until now. I found a new hobby on this trip. I was sad that we had not that much time for this trip. I forgot to bring comfortable shoes because I thought I could do the climbing barefoot. So I had to climb in boots which was very uncomfortable. I should inform myself better about the trip next time to have the right clothes/shoes.
